Indications
In patients with coronary heart disease with a plasma cholesterol level
of 5.5 mmol/l or greater, Corstat is indicated to:
- Reduce the risk of mortality
- Reduce the risk of coronary death and non-fatal myocardial infarction
- Reduce the risk for undergoing myocardial revascularisation procedures
- Slow the progression of coronary atherosclerosis, including reducing the development of new lesions and new total occlusions
* The patient should be placed on a standard cholesterol-lowering
diet before receiving Corstat and should continue on this diet during treatment with Corstat.
